Jasleen Duggal, MD
Jasleen Duggal, MD, FACP is a board-certified Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College followed by her residency at Chicago Medical School and Affiliated Hospitals. She then finished her fellowship at the prestigious Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Duggal serves as Medical Director for the Bakersfield Heart Hospital Diabetes Center. She is also the Subspecialty Education Coordinator for the University of California, Los Angeles, and mentors the Kern Medical residents here in Bakersfield, California.
She started her own private practice in 2011. Her practice quickly grew as she saw the need for Endocrinologists in Kern County. Dr. Duggal and her staff at Kern Endocrine Center are very committed to the diabetic care of Kern County patients as well as being part of Clinical Research for Diabetic studies.

Atam Bir Singh, MD
Dr. Atam Bir Singh completed his residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Ohio before going to the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science as a postdoctoral fellow in endocrinology and metabolism. Dr. Singh served as Assistant professor of Endocrinology at UC Riverside School of Medicine as well as Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. His scientific accomplishments over the past years established his reputation as a highly regarded clinician in diabetes and related disorders.

Jennifer Johnson, FNP
Jennifer was an ICU nurse for 8 years and completed her Nurse Practitioner program in 2017. She joined Kern Endocrine Center with great enthusiasm to help Jasleen Duggal, MD manage her diabetic patients. Jennifer is trained and partnered with Medtronic for pump therapy and pump education. She has quickly gained the trust and respect of all her peers that refer their patients to her for treatment. Her passion to help treat and educate our community about diabetic care continues to grow.

Darryl Christian R. Altavas, FNP
Darryl Christian R. Altavas is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Nursing in the Philippines in 2009 and his Masters of Science in Nursing at Charles R. Drew University in 2014.
Prior to joining Kern Endocrine, Darryl worked as a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Unit for 3 years and has been working as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient specialty for over 4 years. He is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Kimberly Gonzalez, FNP
Kimberly Gonzalez is an established and highly dedicated Certified Nurse Practitioner serving Kern County for 3 years. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner she worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 12 years in multiple areas within healthcare. She is committed to helping patients become aware of their diagnoses’, take charge of their own health, and live healthy and happy lives. When Kim is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and going camping.

Kori Valdez-Williams, FNP-BC
Kori Valdez-Williams, FNP-BC, received her nursing education within our local community, completing an Associate of Science degree in nursing at Bakersfield College. After that, she advanced her education, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Bakersfield. She worked for five years exclusively in Kern County hospitals, receiving specialty nursing training in cardiac telemetry, guarded, and intensive care. Ms. Williams then continued her education at California State University, Bakersfield receiving a Master of Science degree in nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty. She has spent the past six years working in Primary Care within our local community, emphasizing the importance of metabolism, weight loss, hormones, and diabetes education.

Guadalupe Galindo, MSN, FNP-C
Guadalupe Galindo is a Family Nurse Practitioner nationally certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Lupita completed her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the California State University of Bakersfield in 2003 and her Master of Science in nursing in 2014.
Lupita worked as an emergency trauma nurse for 11 years before practicing as a family nurse practitioner. As an FNP, Lupita has practiced within inpatient and outpatient setting for 8 years prior to joining Kern Endocrine Center. Lupita also works as a part-time lecturer for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at California State University, Bakersfield. She is dedicated to helping others and is very passionate about promoting health education to students and patients.
